Mareike Franz´s artstic work is interdisciplinary
Mareike creates and plays in the genre of dance theatre, physical theatre and clown.
Trained in Germany, at the Palucca School in Dresden and at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, she performed internationally with the choreographer Susanne Linke, danced at the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, at the Company Susanne Linke, and worked with choreographers from Brazil, Estonia, Germany, Israel, Italy, Japan, Russia, and others.
Even though she goes her own way, she sees her masters from East and West, from dance theater and clowning, as important signposts that she always mentally seeks out.
Facing creative no man’s land, music remains her closest companion.
She is grateful for the fact that the stage profession always demands the same principles: modesty, discipline, simplicity, a lot of work, humanity and humor.
Mareike is German and now multilingual - she has repeatedly found herself in situations where she listened to a foreign language, absorbed it in her own calm way and finally spoke it - she sees it as human growth to learn intuitively from her counterpart without denying her own origins.
