"Paris, 1911. The Mona Lisa disappears without a trace from the Louvre.
The whole of Europe is captivated by the mystery – even Picasso comes into the picture as a suspect.
Two years later, she is offered for sale to the director of the Uffizi in Florence.
The festival favourites of ART HOUSE 17 present this spectacular, true story as a sparkling performance with film, acrobatics, humour and early music. A theatrical ode to the most absurd art theft ever.”
Mareike is playing a Louvre visitor, dancing as Mona Lisa and Colombina.
She choreographed her dance solo of the Mona Lisa, to “Meditation/ Thais” (Jules Massenet) played by violinist Lina Tur Bonet.

She immerses each of her performances - wether she plays the polar bear in winter or garnishes the other seasons as a sheep or partridge - in a pinch of poetry."
